Our Inn
offers casual elegance in the historic wild west town of Virginia City, Montana. Virginia
City and nearby Nevada City are historically preserved mining towns that sprung up with
the discovery of gold in the Alder Gulch area in 1863. Here, you will find the spirit of
the old west as you walk along the wood sidewalks of the main street, just one block from
our Country Inn.
In addition to the haunting beauty of the towns
century-old buildings, you can also enjoy performances by the Virginia City Players,
melodramas and vaudeville, much the same as the miners might have enjoyed in the
1860s. Take the narrow-gauge train to Nevada City, one mile away, visit its
open air museum where you can walk through the ghost town with its school house,
saloon, jail, barber shop, fire hall, general store complete with furnishings and
contents. Other activities in the area include historic towns, rafting, golfing, fishing,
panning for gold, shopping, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and more.
Virginia City Chamber of Commerce offers additional
information about the area.

celebrating the 4th of July with the crowd to a quiet afternoon of walking or
playing in the freshly fallen snow.
